Mindfulness educator, teacher, baker, gardener, bike commuter, and grieving person
These are just a few highlights about Liz. Liz fell in love with Santa Cruz, California as a child during family trips to the beach. She gave Santa Cruz a semi-permanent try while studying at the University of California at Santa Cruz (UCSC) graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Retail, baking and cake decorating eventually led to a career in Human Resources at San Jose Unified School District. Liz made Santa Cruz her permanent home and took a job at UCSC in Academic Human Resources. The teaching and training aspects of Human Resources led Liz to pursue her teaching credential. After completing her Master of Arts in Education and receiving her Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential, Liz landed her dream job of teaching second grade at Del Mar Elementary in Live Oak School District. To deal with burnout, stress, anxiety and grief, Liz read, listened and learned about Mindfulness. She has been leading mindfulness groups for adults, students and their parents, as well as teaching a series of mindfulness lessons in TK-Third Grade classrooms in the Live Oak School District in Santa Cruz.
